Love is a weapon; Accustics

Threw doing research of classic Film Noir songs, I have analysed the songs in which we are using for our opening scene and why we have chose them.

Song: Fever
The first song which we considered for our opening was Fever Peggy Lee, we were going to use it for our establishing shots however we felt the tempo was too contestant and the song with too upbeat, we also decided that we didn't want lyric in our opening scene as we felt this would distract the audience from the shots.

Song: Windmills of your Mind
We also considered this popular song for our opening scene, specifically sung by Dusty Springfield as female vocals are more gentle which is what we want for our opening scene, however we decided that it wouldn't provide much tension to the audience, it also wouldn't represent our narrative well enough, even though it has been typically known in Film Noir films.

Song: Harlem Nocturne
This song we will be using in our Opening scene, we though that the acoustics provide some form of mystery, perhaps this is because the song genre is jazz. Jazz music is highly conventional in a Film Noir genre of film, particularly when introduced to the Femme Fatale as it has a seductive element to it.

Song: Taxi Driver (Theme)
This song themes from the film Taxi Driver, a comp film to ours. I also felt this is a good song as well, as in some sections it provides a sense of tension, which we are looking for. Perhaps we will use these snippets for our establishing shots which will make the audience question what is about to happen, as our film does have a narrative of crime.

Song: Crime Wave
This song comes from the film Crime Wave. I think that we will use this song as it perfectly provides enigma to the audience as the song is tense, which will make the audience question what is about to happen. I think that we will use this song when Raymond ( our Protagonist) finds out his girlfriend has been kidnapped, as the beat could also represent his heart beat.
